Been a while since I’ve been beaten that badly on the boat – I wasn’t ‘taking it easy’ like I did last time.  This was supposed to be ‘my trip’ while she watched in awe as I pulled out the big’un’s. She didn’t even really want to go this AM after staying up to late.  I’m still not sure she was even awake half the time. 

I armed myself with an Arashi Glide Bait, Super Spook. Buzzbait, Swimbait.  

“Here, take this drop shot and just cast it out there and wait” (while I do the ‘real fishing’ and that way I can focus). 

Oh, you got one, ok.  Oh, there’s another.  (Maybe I should switch?).  and another. and another and another and another and another 

“Yay! I finally got one” – it is decent so I don’t have to go home in complete shame.  and then she got another and another and another. 

“Ok, I’m done with this spot and it might rain soon, let’s go by the dock.  Here, use this Pop-R.  No, you don’t need to keep working it when its that close to the boa...oh, that’s a really nice fish, might be your PB (4.2lbs).  “Yay, I got one more”.

Enter rain – end trip. ‘Dad, I str8 wrecked you’ – ‘I’m not really sure what that means, but it sounds about right’. 

She had a solid 4 hour run there.  I’d say it was fun to watch since she’s my daughter and such, but all I know is that next time, payback can be a real B. 

Drop shot, 16” leader, zoom finesse worm, ‘candy bug’ – who would have thought. 

Shad color Pop-R caught her biggest one though.
