Went to Pecan Springs forthe  second time, (last time was in December). Overcast skies, drizzle/light rain and very little wind were the order of the day. …. perfect for topwater fishing.  Results were a bit disapointing, 6-dinks and 1-white perch (it was huge). Last time there we caught 1-dink, thats after 7- hours on the water. Lots of grass on the shallow end of the lake making it tough to throw anything but weedless plastics. Also on the shallow end, the water was muddy in color. The other half of the lake, (the dam side), was somewhat better. You could throw shallow water crank baits, rattle traps and the like. This lake is a tough one for me to figure out. I have been spoiled by Tara, Timber, Lake, Deer Trail and a few others…. catching 25-30 bass a day. Cudos to the owner, thanks for the oppertunity to fish on your beautiful property, great time spent with my son!!!
