Reservation Number : 28574
Property Name : Julian Lake
Reservation Date : 05/29/2021 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 46 bass / 30 harvested (and 2 crappie)
Lures Used : Most effective were: floating worm, 3.8'' to 4.8'' paddletail (with and without underspin), sft jerkbait

Wife and I fished Julian for the first time. What a nice, scenic, and secluded property with easy access! Water was 79F to 84F and heavily stained after all the recent rains with 10’’ of viz. Wind was calm and skies clear. We landed a good number of small bass around the shallow perimeter of the lake, but found a few nicer ones by drifting mid-lake between the goose nesting platforms and slowly dragging a paddletail in 5 to 6 FOW.

Most effective lures were: floating worm in white or purple/green, 3.8'' to 4.8'' paddletail (with and without underspin) in white or bluegill flash, and sft jerkbait in white. We ended up landing 46 bass and 2 crappie. Largest catch was a chunk just a shade under 5lbs. Also, landed 2 in the 3lb class and 3 in the 2lb class and a handful more just under 2lbs. The rest were harvesters around 12’’ long. We noted that these fish had a lot of fight – even after they were in the boat!

We’d definitely return to Julian and are so happy this property is in the club.

Haha, that fish is about as wide as she is long.
