Lures Used : Soft plastics; poppers; frogs

Fished the morning of 5/31 at Five Finger Springs.  Overcast skies with temperatures in the low-70s.  Intermitten showers occured throughout the morning.  Wind was minimal, sometimes gusting to 10mph.  Water was still relatively clear even with recent rainfall, up to 2 feet in the shallows.  Water temp was 75 degrees.  Hit the lake at 6:30am and fished until noon.  Surprisingly slow top water bite with only a few bass caught on poppers.  No action on the frogs (outside of constant interest from the forage fish).  T-rigged soft plastics produced the most bass including the largest of the day (3.8lbs).  Weighted and weightless lizards, brush hogs, senkos (some wacky, some T-rigged) and z-craws.  Generally all areas of the lake produced with bass in the grass.  18 LMB and 3 bluegills were boated although we lost a few more near the boat and/or in the weeds.  With the lake level being up, this lake is very fishable even with vegetation although anglers who want to fish non-weedless lures should be advised that they will spend their day cleaning off lots of weeds.  Fun morning with an ample amount of “reel” solitude.
