Fellow member Ralph DeLeonardis and arrived at the property and were immediately greeted by a massive thunderstorm. The ranch received nearly an inch of rain between dawn and 9:30am, so we sat it out on the gravel roadway by the main house. By the time the first storm subsided it was apparent that the road to the boat launch was so inundated and muddy that we were going to have to bail on launching our kayaks and fish from the bank, or risk getting rutting up the property and getting our trucks stuck.

We managed to get in 90 minutes of fishing before the 2nd thunderstorm arrived and we each landed 3 bass and Ralph managed to hook a nice sized bluegill just before the lightning & torrential rain got close.

It wasn’t quite the morning that we had hoped for but it was still fun! We both tried throwing a frog, given the success that I had in June but to no avail.

We stopped for some BBQ at Coopers (pretty tasty brisket) near College Station and then headed home to dry off.
