Long time lurker on this forum, and first time poster.

Fishing with fellow club member Charles McCallum we started the day at sunrise, no wind and water temp of 83.  Awesome property, very scenic and fans of the pontoons.  Quickly hopped in the boat and started off strong with an early 3# catch on top water. Working the structure, humps and weed line pretty hard we were able to big up some decent fish on top water, z-craw and fluke.

Early in the day, structure was key and Charles pulled a 5 pounder from one hump and shortly after a 4 pounder from the other.  Had a hard time finding a pattern and we kept working different things at different depths with some success.  Caught a couple monster bluegill on a finesse spinner and a couple bass on Senko…... then things stalled out early afternoon as the sun was blazing directly above.  It was a hot day,

Took a break for lunch, relished in the a/c from the vehicle and hit the water shortly after.  We had a pretty long dry spell early in the afternoon but slight wind and periodic cloud cover made it bearable.  Around 2(ish), I was slow working the Senko with 1/0 hook on 10lb fluro and hooked into one that weighed 8lbs 1oz.  New PB.  Had to net the bass in the weeds and that totally got us amped up to do some more fishing.  The bass did have a couple tags behind the dorsal fin, but they were pretty faded so couldn’t make out any numbers.   We ended up fishing to 3:30 and caught a couple more, with Charles catching another 3 pounder on a monster 12” worm.

In total, we ended with 16 LMB (some real heavies), 4 bluegill and 1 crappie.  Real nice amenities and can’t wait to give Pecan Gap another try.

Had a great time and wonderful property. What a show to watch Mike land that 8lb beast on spinning tackle, 10lb line and through the thickest weeds in the lake!
