Fished 12/29/11 afternoon with my nephew and caught 7 really nice healthy bass with a brush hog mainly.  My nephew only caught 1 on a red crawfish but it was really heavy and big.  No bites with cranks or spinners.  Beautiful afternoon to be fishing without the triple digit heat.  As an aside, we noticed alot of empty shotgun shells and wads around the big pond so it looks like someone was hunting ducks.  I have read that bass eat plastic that goes to the bottom of ponds and then it swells in them and caused death.
