This was my first time there and was pleasantly surprised at how large and beautifully maintained the property is. We interacted with two staff members there who were very pleasant and professional. Customer service is obviously high on their list. Lots of recreation options for the guests of the resort, from archery and golf range to putt putt, rifle range and Tracker bass boat rental. We checked in and went to the launch site. Unlike the rest of the property, the launch site was a little rugged and rocky. The canoe there had a lot of rainwater in it, but we launched my little boat just fine.

Partly cloudy with a light breeze made for a great day to be out. Water was warm (70°) clear (to 4’) and deep (18’) in the main lake area. Caught nothing there. Went far into both creek arms and caught a couple. Lots of lily pads and other vegetation in both creek arms but a clear area afforded easy access in both. Best lures were green and silver Senko and a bluegill colored Jackhammer chatterbait. Largest caught was about 2 pounds.

We saw one resort guest fishing for awhile in a rented bass boat. It was no issue for us as the lake is large and he didn’t fish for long. All in all, a nice drive southwest of Dallas and a very nice day on the water with a good friend.
