Fishing with my father in law, Arriving around 9.30 to 10am. We started out bank fishing at the jonboat and dock area, mainly from dock. Caught several from the dock, and noticed 1000’s of tiny bait fish, maybe half inch or so, schooling around the oak trees and the laydown in the water, making a small nook area. Several big bass were feeding on  these baitfish. We threw in this area and around dock and did catch several for a decent start. Caught a big one right under the trees, say 2.5 to 3 pounder. The trees are right beside the dock and a good place to target, especially, when you get out in the boat. The bass were really after the bait fish, competing with each other.

Not long afterward,  We took the boat out, contending with a light to medium wind, and tooled around the dam, up and down, around the spillway, but not a whole lot of luck on this south end and west side. We did catch a few, and some away from the bank as well in the middle, while mainly sticking with senkos, speedworm, and flukes...It was a bit slow going into the mid afternoon.

We finished up on the North side, oppostie side of dam, late afternoon till dark, and found a bit of a channel on that end, right before the mouth of a  big nook area, but a little too shallow to get into. Although we threw into it some and caught a few in there. But had more luck right at the mouth throwing back towards the larger body of water, where a channel had formed...Flukes really started to pop the bite, catching a lot, and we still had some good catches on the worms….But it was a great way to end it...55 fish for the day. Great lake, great time. We will be back.

fyi...water was up high, and plenty of algae to contend with,  having to clean the lures often, but it was still managable on the finesse baits.  Water color was stained with clarity around a foot or two.
