Malouf is a beautiful spot and the sun was out, wind was cool and the fishing was awesome.  I did not catch any dinks and caught fish consistently for the 4 hours I was there.  I fish from a Hobie kayak so I could anywhere in the lake but most of the fish were caught in shallow water or around the timber.  Like most I always have a top water, a soft plastic and a moving bait rigged up.  Nothing worked until I threw a black and blue z man chatterbait.  BOOM!  Fish after fish and they were slamming that thing.  It's actually the first time I have ever had to use pliers to get a chatterbait from the back of a bass’ mouth.  Most times they lip hook but they were swallowing it!  Happy thanksgiving everyone!
