Fished this site on Tuesday with Steve Knight the outdoor sports writer for the Tyler Paper. With winds at 18 mph and gusts up to 25 mph we thought we are in for a rough day. However, West Lake (remember this property has two lakes) is so well protected that the wind was almost a non factor. We caught 50-60 fish in 5.5 hour of fishing. Steve caught the biggest fish at 7 lbs. More than 50% of the fish were over 2 lbs with a dozen or so fish in the 4-5 lb class.
The action was non stop and I was broken off on a big fish on my second cast of the day. We started throwing Senkos and caught fish, so we never switched. However, I think you could have caught them on any plastic you wanted to throw.
