I have fished Slaughter several times over the last three yeras and the first couple of trips were great. I caught fish up to 5lbs. on those trips. THe last few times I had poor results. I hope I am becoming a better fisherman thanks to Joshua. I fished 12 to 4:30. The water temperature was 61, partly sunny and visibility was about 2 feet. I thought the fish would be in the deeper water or on the steep slopes surrounding it.. I fished that area hard with lipless baits, deep divers and swim jigs. No luck. I started using a square bill in the standing trees and caught a nice 4 pounder. This located the fish for me, but I switched to a swim bait because I kept geetting hung in the grass. That did the trick. Over the next couple of hours I caught 8-9 nice fish up to 4lbs fishing in the trees and surrounding grass.
