Since everyone's scale can weigh a bit different (I have seen them off by more than a pound) we will use length to determine our winner this year. Please bring a "Check it Stick" or similar with you (see pic below). Moreover, we will have an identifier that needs to appear in the photo with you. This year's identifier will be a set of keys or single key in the photo with the fish.
This year's rules will be:
*Contest starts January 27th and ends April 30th.
*All club lakes qualify
*A picture of the fish on a "check it" stick or similar. The fish should be facing left with the mouth closed. (see current tournament entries)
*Do not pinch tail. Measure to the closest ¼ inch. (Do not use ruler, tape measure etc..)
*Picture should be sent within 48 hours of trip
*Include the unique identifier (this year it is keys) in the picture.
*In the event of a tie, the person who paid their contest fee first wins.
*Contest fee is $25
* Contest entry must be submitted and approved by the club office PRIOR to catching the fish, either through email or by phone.
What is a Check It Stick?
I hope you are fired up about this years contest. We have had several questions about the “Check It Stick”. Check It Stick is an actual brand, but was used as a generic term, like using the term Xerox for a copy or Kleenex for a tissue. Check It Stick is a measuring board.
I have found the Check It Stick Brand to be the best (easy to read and wider than most brands) and the one that most Tournament anglers use. The easiest way to buy one is on line. You can buy one from the following place. They are $18.50 and freight should be a few dollars. Click here to view online. Or, cut and paste this link to your web browser, http://lakework.com/cart/index.php?p=product&id=189&parent=7
***Remember to take your picture with the a set of keys and show us both the fish and the measuring board so we can see the inch marks. DON’T SEND US A FISH ON A TAPE MEASURE OR RULER. WE NEED THE FISH WITH HER MOUTH AGAINST THE L OF THE CHECK IT STICK.***
