Hit the water about 9:00 AM with temps in the mid 30’s.  No wind to start, but by mid-morning picked up to 15 mph. Paddled kayak out to dam first before wind picked up.  No luck along the dam, but did pick up 2 small ones off the east bank on a baitfish pattern.  Paddled back to the creek to get out of the wind, which turns out where I should have started.  Saw a small school of big shad, so tied on a larger baitfish pattern.  Started catching immediately. Caught 7 from 2.5# up to 5.5#.  Left the lake about 3:00. Bass were very active chasing a large school of shad from the entrance of the creek back about halfway in. The largest bass I caught had a huge shad sticking halfway out his throat. Water temp started at 51 and warmed up to 55 by afternoon.  Water is very clear.
