I’m headed that way this weekend. What area of the lake and what did you catch your fish on? Any size? Anything moving shallow to beds? Fish have eggs?

Egg devolpment is at its peak and in some cases starts as early as October. I harvested some fish in late october of last year with eggs.  In fact, it would not suprise me to see a few fish begin to spawn in the next week or two. If we have a week of mild nights in the upper 50s or 60s they will spawn. Fish generally spawn much earlier than most fisherman realize and the spawn is generally longer than most fisherman realize, often for 6 weeks or longer. A 12.2 was caught at Lake Leon 4 february’s ago. Also a 11.5 was caught at Leon this past summer. A 11.5 summertime fish would probably be close to a 13 lb share a lunker fish.
