Fished with another member Thursday afternoon. The lake must have been full because water was flowing over the overflow channel. The clarity was 30” and vegetation was not problem.

We caught a total of 58 bass with the largest three being 7lbs,6lbs & 5 ½ lb. From that point the size dropped down to 2 lbs. Most of the fish were in the 14” size .They hit 4” wacky and 4” wtless Tx rig yum dingers. Watermelon red was the best choice then wat/seed,cotton/candy ,pump.chrt and motor oil.

The bass were in shallow areas 30 to forty yards away from the shore line and beds were all over these areas.Very few within five yards of the shore line.

One of the least untilized lakes in the club. FYI, we had one member who, passed away last year, who fished with us 15 times a year. He was a memember for more than a decade. He only fished this lake. Reports like this let you know why he fished here. He was in his 90’s, and didn’t use a computer, so his grandaughter made the reservations for him and went with him several times a year. Because he was not comfortable with a computer he never posted a fishing report. But, he caught lots of solid fish from Julian Lake. 

Guys, I’m telling you if your willing to drive more than an hour from your home in the suuburbs, we have lots of lakes where catching 5lb+ fish is common; especially in the Spring.

Henderson Dogwood West and Dogwood East

Laneville Hidden Springs. 

Crockett Hickory Creek. 

San Saba Waco Creek Ranch

Bosewell Indian Hollow

Overbrook OK- Willow Lake

Coalgate OK-Cody Ranch- Upper and Lower Hart (currently closed for low water) 

Lots and Lots of others, but this will get you started if your willing to make a road trip.
