Beautiful clear sunny skies made for an extremely windy day at Bluebonnet Ridge. We fished out of our kayaks and could only fish spots in the creek where the trees provided some cover. My friend and I landed 4 LMB between 1-2lb and lost several others. The water temps peaked at 55 degrees and the bite was very slow – soft plastics, swimbaits and jigs in the creek channel helped us eek out a few over the course of an entire day. This lake is very shallow and our kayaks were key to navigate most spots. The water is remarkably clear and the weeds aren't an issue at this point early in the year. This property is incredible and I will be back but I need to try for a time when the wind isn't averaging 20mph.
