It’s cool and windy (20+) with gusts from the north east (fishing the least) and I’m with a friend to fish Pasture Lake. Arrived @ 8:30, out fitted the boat, looked at the choppy and churnned up water, and we decided to walk the bank. Fished South end by dam thinking deeper water—-Nothing. Walked to the North, just because. Shallow, 2 1/2 to 3 ft. deep with ugly, slimmy moss. Caught 5 or 6 on a spinner and continued to walk. Mean while by buddy takes over from where I just left and reels in 14 or more Pasture beauties 2 to 3 1/2 pound fighters. I’m back and add to the total. Decided to try our boat and returned to the same location. On my penultimate cast I take the largest fish I’ve caught since joining the club. No fish tail, we open her mouth and we see the tail end of a fairly large crappie in her gullet. She’s an eater. big, healthy and full of eggs. By the way both boats at this site are under water and of no use FYI. All in all a good day on (or by) the water.
