Pam and I fished Julian on a beautiful Saturday with mile high skies and mild breezes and ambient temps from 40 to 70 with water temps from 57 to 64. The lake is a few feet low with about 30” of viz and some algae blooms. This shallow lake has vegetation covering lake floor but not yet extending to the surface.

We landed 39 and harvested 33. Five of those returned were 14.5” and one was a decent one at 2.75 lbs. So let's just say it was a harvest day on a beautiful little lake in a park like setting.

In general the post frontal conditions combined with really shallow water kept us active on soft plastics. Pretty much the only effective lures we're a 3.8 paddletail on a flashy swimmer and a silver and gold finesse spinnerbait with a grub trailer working both lures just ticking off the grass. The bites came from literally all over the lake except for where the water was just too shallow to navigate.

We know from.experience and from prior reports that there are some good ones in here. Thanks PWF and wonderful land owners for these opportunities for escape and revitalization and SMILES.
