Forecast was for 10-20MPH winds with gusts to 30 - and they weren’t lying! We were able to fish some shallow protected areas and caught fish everywhere we fished. Best lures were a firetiger colored Thunderstick and chartreuse/white spinner baits in 2-4 feet of water. All but one dink were in the 14-16 inch range but my wife couldn’t land one that was over 5 pounds in 6-8 feet of water.

I’m sure we would have done better if it weren’t so windy. That’s my story, anyway, and I’m sticking to it. ;-))

Don’t go if it’s windy! lol

Actually it seems like a great lake. We caught fish in every place we fished, which was restricted to shallow “coves” due to the high winds. Best area for us was a cove directly across from the launch ramp. Which reminds me, the lake info mentions rough road and launch area. The gate entrance from the main road was pretty rough and uneven too, so don’t go in a low slung vehicle. Any SUV or truck should be fine. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the invitation, Bill. It’s tempting, as I know you’ll be on the fish. My lady and I are looking at another outing soon. Have a great day, and let us know how you did!
