My brother and I hit K Bar for a last minute afternoon trip since it is close proximity to where we live.  We started in the small pond and quickly picked up several fish on sexy shad square bills, white chatterbaits, and a black with blue flake Texas rigged Hula Grub.  The wind picked up to the point that the small pond had white caps making positioning difficult.  After a couple of hours we called it quits in the boat with 19 bass on the small pond.   We bank fished the medium pond and had similar success in the sumberged timber along the southern shoreline.  After less than an hour we had 11 more with most coming on small cranks/square bills and the black blue creature bait.  Before packing up we walked over to the western edge of the big pond and scored another 7 fish all on crankbaits.  The wind by this time was constantly blowing in our faces making casting almost impossible.  Most bass were between 1 and 2 pounds with a few above that.  Nothing of any major size but they are fat and fought hard.  The medium pond had bedding bass along the southern edge, but with the clear water they wouldn’t stick around for long.  Be aware the boat on the small pond has a small leak from a dent on the bottom that will pool a little water near the transom over time.  It doesn’t appear to be very severe.  No fish harvested on these ponds.  Overall decent day besides the wind.
