We fished for Saturday afternoon after the cold front blew threw. It was the toughest day I have had on this lake for sure. It rained for about 4 hours. We fished on Sunday after a couple of storms blew through in the morning. Once the sun came out it was beautiful.  Water temp was about 60-65.

As stated in the last fishing report from this lake, the water clarity is about like chocolate milk. We did not catch anything big, but did catch about 20 on Saturday and about 30 on Sunday.  Fish were in the 2-4 lb range, with most very consistently in the 2.5-3 lb size. Most of the fish were from the point across from the launch back down the end of the lake on the creek side. Appears most have spawned. We did catch a couple that appeared to not yet have spawned. Very few under 14”. We harvested 5 that were about a pound and a half. No crappie as the water is just to muddy for them to see it. Fish were caught on lizards and spinnerbaits. With the water color, it has to be loud and colorful. Chartreuse colored tails and baits worked well.

There was so much rain, some parts of the road were a mess. We tried to leave on Saturday evening and couldn’t get over one of the hills. Didn’t think we needed 4-wheel drive on this place, but could have used it Saturday. All in all a pretty good trip. Broke in my rainsuit for sure. You never know about a spring trip, could be 40 or it could be 80. We didn’t have too much wind, so that helped. We met Ken on the way out. Nice guy. They do a great job with the accommodations.  All you have to do is show up and fish.
