Fished the Weston SW property on Sunday afternoon, March 17th. This was my first time to fish Weston, and first trip as an official member of PWF. I’ve been invited on a few trips with member Zach Millwood in the past.

We arrived around 2:30 pm to a stiff wind. Actually had a tough time unloading the boat. Put the TM on high and headed to the opposite end away from the dam to avoid the high winds. The water appeared to be really muddy from all the recent rains. We started with moving baits such as buzzbaits and cranks, but quickly realized this would be a soft plastic day. The key was to fish the senko or fluke extremely SLOW! The wind limited us to protected pockets, but we did mange 15 fish or so.

The property owner has done a great job at marking all the brush piles with PVC pipe, however, the wind prohibitied us from fishing the open water. Will try this property again in the future as it is less than 45 min from the house!

Ron,

Welcome and thanks for posting. We have built a tilapia brood pond about the size of a swimming pool above the lake on the east side. We will be adding a fish feeder and tilapia in the next 30 days. After 30 to 45 days we should have thousands of baby tilapia which will be added to the lake. We will repeat this process every 45 days until late fall. Grow bass….Grow.
