Wow, sorry your first trip was so disappointing. Virtually all the lakes are low, and those west of I-35 are really low. We desperately need some rain. In San Antonio, I might recommend Castroville- Lago Escondido or Wealder HeartBrand Ranch.
Since you caught zero fish, I think Wealder might be a great option as catch days of 25+ are common.
