The rain really did this place some good.   The water level was probably up a foot from last week when I was here. It's still probably a few feet low from its normal level, but a lot of the mud was under a foot of water this time. 

As for fishing, frogs thrown into the grass  were almost guaranteed to get a strike. That's where I caught 3 of the 4 fish.  Several othe strikes where I just didn't get the hook set.  The 4th was caught on a trigger purple woorm.  Spinners and rattletraps didn't rouse much interest. 

I used the two man boat to get around.  With no wind it was pretty easy to stay in one place, though I could see that you'd get blown off your spots pretty easily if the breeze picked up.   Certainly worth another trip back.
