I would spend my time on Bluebonnet Ridge vs. Mesquite.  In 4 hours on Mesquite Valley we caught 5 bass.  In 2 hours on Bluebonnet we caught 5 bass. The water is crystal clear and lakes are near full.  Never saw any forage and for that matter bass cruising.  We caught fish in the deeper water, nothing shallow. Caught them on flukes, spinners (red craw/ willow blades), gold rattle trap.  It was magical as they must have been hiding below the weeds.   Just a beautiful place, the weather was great, little wind.   Tried a buzz bait but no takers.  I was hoping to find a group of bass in one location but not the case today.    We will be back.  All the bass were 2 to 3 pounds and looked healthy.
