New member. This was my first time out on a member lake.

The fishing was tough. There was recently a lot of pressure on the lake over the weekend but we knew that going in. Water was clear down to about 2 or 3 feet. The weather was really weird all day. It went from dark and overcast to sunny and back a lot.

We kept 1 bass under 14” and caught a few that were barely over. We caught 12 Crappie and kept them all.

Lake was pretty nice. The trolling motor on the boat stopped after about 4 hours of use. I had a freshly charged Optima Blue Top battery with me so I don’t think the battery was dead. I tried to reset the little breaker that was on the positive lead to no avail. Could not get the trolling motor up and running again. Not sure what the issue was.

Wes, that lake can be a real bear to pattern. It can be somewhat of a feast or famine type lake. Don’t be discouraged, there are some lakes here that are pure magic.

There is an on/off switch on the side of the trolling motor that you can hit with your foot by accident - I have done it myself - I just happen to notice the switch when I was leaning down to pick something up.

Oh we had a lot of fun. We like catching Crappie too :)  Mark, I bet that’s what it was. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where a switch was. I knew it wasn’t the battery cause it was going strong and then just stopped.
We will definitely go back to the lake again. For the size of the lake, it has a lot of cool structure and bank stuff to fish.

Also I meant to add, my cousin who went with me as my guest snagged at least 3 decent sized bass that he lost before he got them to the boat. I snagged one in the same spot and it was at least 4 to 5 pounds. It spit my lure right before the boat. We snagged all 4 of those around the center brush pile in the middle of the lake.
