Damita Jo and I took our 7 year old grandson, Boone, for a short, spring-break  fishing trip to Waterboo.  The wind was howling @ 25-30 mph and the temp was supposedly in the 60’s; however, it felt more like 50.  We could not find the fish and this coupled with the conditions made for a short trip.

The water temp was 58 – 60 degrees with 8-10” visibility.  We caught all three fish on a shad colored lipless crankbait.  No takers on Senkos or other plastics. The water level was up from what I’ve seen here before, and we had no trouble launching our 17’ aluminum Tracker.

Waterboo, and Bedrock Ranch are very scenic and I would recommend this property.  We have had fun here many times and from a recent fishing report, one can easily see that it can be a great fishing hole!
