The average person catch’s 1.5 fish every 4 hours on a public lake. Don’t ask me how you can catch a .5 fish, but you get the point. So, when you go to a club lake and catch 20-30 fish in a day of fishing you have experienced something very few people get to experience. When you hear of reports of people catching several fish of 5 lb’s and even larger, you have to understand how unusual that is. I say this only to let you that catching 5-10 fish in the 2-3 lb range on a lake with no one on the lake is something that many fisherman would consider a good day of fishing.  If you did not have a few days were you catch 2-5 fish after all day of fishing, you cannot appreciate how truely special it is to have those days when you catch 25 fish in an afternoon. Please keep a healthy perspective. If you want real prospective, go site fishing on the beds at Lake Fork this weekend, pay $400 for a guide and see how many fish (big and small) you catch. And did I mention you can do this with your closest 2500 friends. In fact you can jump boat to boat to boat.

2500 friends….that’s funny.  So true on all of it.  I only fish public waters for competition to see how I stack up but the club lakes are the way to go if you just want to catch fish.
