John Shepard hosted another group trip at beautiful Marshall – Heartland 10-10 Ranch.  All had a good time and in total they caught about 230 bass with the big bass at 9.25 lbs, two over 7, one over 6 and a good number of 5 lbers.  For the trip Beaver and Hawg Trough were the most productive lakes for size and numbers.

Seemed mostly post-spawn but a few beds were observed and some of the bass caught had eggs.  A variety of lures delivered but topwater wasn’t super active; although it did produce the big fish.  Slow presentation with chatterbaits, underspins, frogs and soft plastics worked.

Lakes are full or nearly so with early pad growth, moderate submerged vegetation and stem fields.  Plenty of fishable water.  Roads and boats are all in good shape.
