China Lake – A Hidden Gem for Peaceful Fishing

Nestled in the NE corner of Cody Ranch, China Lake offers a serene fishing experience on its 25-acre waters, built in 2017 and stocked in 2018. With minimal fishing pressure and an abundance of natural beauty, this lake provides a tranquil escape for anglers looking to enjoy pristine waters and abundant fish.

Key Features:

  • Standing Timber: The lake features standing timber in both arms, offering perfect hiding spots for bass and other fish species.
  • Lake Depths: With depths reaching up to 20 feet, China Lake offers a variety of fishing opportunities, from shallow to deeper waters.
  • Improved Rock Ramp: An improved rock ramp allows for easy boat launching, though lighter boats are recommended. Please avoid boats with outboard motors to protect the integrity of the lake.

Fishing Experience:

  • Low Fishing Pressure: With minimal fishing activity, the lake remains a hidden gem, perfect for anglers seeking a peaceful and quiet fishing experience.

Boats: Please note that there is no jon boat provided for members at this lake. Lighter boats without outboard motors are the best option for launching.

If you're looking for a calm, undisturbed environment to fish, China Lake at Cody Ranch promises a relaxing and enjoyable experience in a beautiful, well-maintained setting.

Requirements


  • Your reservation allows you to fish only this lake on Cody Ranch.

  • MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14" and under and all crappie at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.

  • If you clean any fish, DO NOT put the remains in the blue dumpster. Please throw fish remains into one of the lakes.

  • 48-hour notice is required to lodge at this site. When you leave, please take all trash accumulated during your stay with you.

  • Lodging check-in & check-out times are as follows,

  • Check-in: 3:00 P.M. & Check-out 12:00 P.M. (Noon)
