Cody Ranch – Peach Creek & Crabgrass Lakes

Located in Coalgate, Oklahoma, Cody Ranch spans 3,000 acres and is within comfortable driving distance of several major cities:

  • 2.5 hours north of downtown Dallas
  • 2 hours southeast of Oklahoma City
  • 2 hours, 15 minutes south of Tulsa

This premier property offers 9 lakes, each around 10–18 acres, plus one 50-acre lake and a smaller 6-acre lake. For reservation purposes, the ranch is divided into six fishing options. Peach Creek and Crabgrass belong to Opportunity 3, located on the north end of the ranch—about a 10-minute drive from either of the two lodging locations.

Peach Creek

  • Stocking: Primarily pure Florida Bass, though some native genetics may have found their way in.
  • Depth: The deepest area reaches 18 feet, located near the midpoint of the dam.
  • Location: The first lake you encounter when heading to the north end of the ranch.

Crabgrass Lake

  • Access: Requires a truck, SUV, or vehicle with higher clearance. A 4x4 isn’t strictly necessary, but a low-profile sedan isn’t recommended.
  • Water Clarity & Vegetation: Clear water (up to 6 feet of visibility), abundant grass, lily pads, and timber—ideal for sight-fishing.
  • Notable Catches: A 6 lb fish landed during test fishing, and electroshocking revealed a near 7 lb bass. Many fish weigh 6–8 lbs.
  • Location: At the far north end of the ranch.

Additional Fishing Opportunities

  1. Twin Lakes (Opportunity 1) – Two lakes, each 10–17 acres, on the east side.
  2. Hart Lakes (Opportunity 2) – Two centrally located lakes, Lower and Upper Hart.
  3. Moonshine Lake (Opportunity 4) – 30 acres, next to the Cabin.
  4. China Lake (Option 5) – 25 acres, built in 2017 and stocked in 2018.
  5. Acker Lake (Option 6) – 50 acres, built in 2018 and stocked in 2019.

Lodging Options

  • The Lodge

    • Five bedrooms with nine beds (8 twins, 1 king)
    • Two living areas
    • Overlooks a 6-acre lake

  • The Cabin

    • Two bedrooms (beds for 3), two baths, plus two large lofts for additional guests
    • Next to 30-acre Moonshine Lake
    • Fully appointed kitchen, cable TV (no Wi-Fi), propane grill, and patio/picnic area
    • Heated, but no air conditioning
    • Available only if The Lodge is already booked

Requirements


  • Your reservation permits fishing only at these two lakes.​

  • All bass 14 inches and under, as well as all crappie, must be removed.

  • Report the number of each species removed to the club office via the online reservation system after your outing.

  • If you clean any fish, do not place the remains in the blue dumpster.

  • Please dispose of fish remains in one of the lakes.

  • A 48-hour notice is required to secure lodging.

  • Remove all trash before leaving.

  • Check-in: 3:00 P.M.

  • Check-out: 12:00 P.M. (Noon)
