Flying J Lake – A Beautifully Balanced Fishing Retreat

Welcome to Flying J Lake, a 16-acre fishing paradise built and stocked in 2018, located just a few miles from the Grayson County Airport. This lake offers a fantastic variety of fishing environments, with a perfect mix of timber, open water, shallow areas, and deeper sections, ensuring something for every angler.

  • Diverse Fishing Habitats: With a combination of timber, open water, and varying depths, Flying J Lake is well-stocked and designed to provide an exciting and varied fishing experience.
  • Boat Launch: The lake is equipped with a convenient rock ramp for launching boats up to 16 feet. A 14 ft v-hull jon boat is available for members to use, making it easier to explore every corner of the lake - please note, the boat is fairly heavy and tough to handle for just one person.
  • Ideal for All Anglers: Whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler, Flying J Lake offers a perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing day on the water.

Boating & Parking Guidelines:

  • Boat Launch: Please use the rock ramp to launch boats 16 feet or smaller. There is a 14 ft v-hull jon boat available for use by members - please note, the boat is fairly heavy and tough to handle for just one person.
  • Parking: For your convenience, do not park near the barn. Instead, park near the ramp. Please refer to the lake map included in your reservation for specific parking instructions.
  • Walking Only: Please note, do not drive around the lake. After parking at the ramp, you will need to walk to access the lake.

With its tranquil surroundings and well-maintained facilities, Flying J Lake is the perfect destination for anglers seeking both peace and adventure on the water.

Requirements


  • DO NOT drive around the lake. PARK at the boat ramp and walk.

  • MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14" and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing. Please dispose of harvested fish south ramp on the other side of that dam.

  • You may keep all Crappie and Catfish.

  • Take all trash with you. Clean boat of all trash including your used soft plastics.
