Boat LaunchSmall boats/trailers easily launched from bank.
This 13 acre rock quarry lake is just 20 miles south of downtown Dallas and shaped like the letter "L". Like most rock quarry lakes it has lots of deep water and nearly 1 mile of shoreline. With so much shoreline you can make a full day of fishing this lake. Electrofishing results were some of the best we see in a given year with a large population of 3-4 lb bass and several over 6 lbs. In the last 2 years the lake has produced 2 fish over 10 lbs. The lake has been under management for the last few years with fertilization and additional forage fish. The relative weights to these fish were well above average.
Launching small boats 16 foot and below can be done from the ramp area.
The lake is just 200 yards from the county road. This is black land which gets muddy quick, but dries quick. During wet weather times, we suggest that you test the ground where the rock ends before you drive down the lake (125 yards from the gravel area around grain bin)
The property offers a large 8' x 16' barge/pontoon boat WITHOUT seats. Picture a pontoon boat with just a deck and a place to mount a trolling motor to the front. Why don't we have a regular jon boat? Since the property is not locked, but it is monitored multiple times a day, we cannot take a chance on a light weight jon boat being stolen. The Barge is too heavy to steal. The GATE CODE ON YOUR RESERVATION IS THE LOCK YOU NEED TO UNLOCK THE BOAT (THERE MAY BE TWO LOCKS JOINING TOGETHER, THE CODE IS THE SAME FOR EACH LOCK). YOU MUST LOCK THE BOAT BACK. You may want to bring a cooler or portable chair to place on the deck of the boat.
We would suggest you bring at least a 50 lb trolling motor with at least two batteries. The boat/barge is heavy.
Requirements
MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14” and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.
