Little Cypress Lake Overview:
Location:
This stunning 22-acre lake is situated halfway between Winnsboro and Mount Vernon, Texas, offering a peaceful and scenic fishing destination.
Lake Features:
- Plankton-rich water and an abundance of water willow and smartweed surrounding the lake create an ideal environment for growing big bass.
- The lake benefits from a thriving population of bass, with many individuals exhibiting relative weights exceeding 100%, indicating healthy, well-fed fish.
- A unique feature of this lake is the combination of threadfin shad and bluegill populations, making it one of the few lakes with this abundance of forage.
- The lake is not actively harvesting bass at this time but offers a great opportunity for anglers seeking quality bass fishing.
- Members can keep all crappie caught.
Boating and Access:
- Pontoon Boat: There is a 15-foot mini pontoon boat available for members to use, but you'll need to bring your own trolling motor and battery as well as chairs for sitting.
- Boat Launch: There is an improved rock boat ramp; between the corner of the dam and the dock
- Bank Fishing: Most of the lake can be bank fished with no problem, the north end is surrounded by heavy trees though and can only be accessed by boat
Fishing Guidelines:
- Bass Harvesting: There is no bass harvesting at this time, allowing anglers to catch and release bass to help maintain the lake's healthy bass population.
- Crappie: You may keep all crappie caught in the lake.
Summary:
